I had an email from the owner of insurancequotes.org.uk.
It has been set up as a hub for information, contacts and a database for certain cars.
You will find a full Motor Insurance Contacts Database, along with a Database for the likes of the ST with actual quotes people have had.
It really is well worth checking out... and, if you've recently had a quote, upload it onto the database for other users to find!
Check out:

Here's a guide kindly provided by a friend of mine who works in insurance. This should give you a good idea of what you MUST declare. Please not this is only a guide and FIESTASTOC.COM nor its staff will be held responsible for its accuracy.
In short... you should DECLARE EVERYTHING to ensure your insurance certificate is valid!
You MUST Declare the following:
Alloy Wheels - Even if they are Ford
Body Kits - including Ford Sports Kits
Exhausts - including Backboxes
Roll Cages even half, cosmetic ones
Window Tints (remember legally the tints side not be beyond the B Pillar now)Aftermarket steering wheels without airbags
Aftermarket Seats or re-trims
Brake Conversions (this could reduce your insurance!)
New Bumpers - Sports or Standard
Any type of Engine Modifications e.g. Cams, Turbo, Supercharger, Throttle Bodies etc...
Spoilers even Ford branded
Induction Kits / Panel Filters / Drilled Air boxes
Items we would recommend are also declared, especially should you need to claim following an accident:
Clear / Smoked / Lexus / LED or any type of aftermarket Lights
Uprated Panel Filters if fitted within the standard airbox
Bodywork additions or alterations
Colour coded body parts ie bumper trims
Uprated Brake Discs and/or Pads
Neons interior or exterior
De-Tango'd Front Lights i.e the removal of the orange reflector (not silvervision bulb)
Uprated Spark Plugs
Clear side indicators
Alloy Gearknobs / Pedals / Handbreaks etc...
Up-graded Headlight bulbs (ensure these are the legal wattage)

I dont really understand how this works ...
My renewal with Elephant is coming up, and the renewal price is about £410 ... which I'd be happy to pay.
I've just had a look on Elephants site, entered same details as the renewal (both renewal and new internet quote are 10month ones), and the new quote comes out at £320 ... thats with mods that I'll be getting by the time the renewl is required.
How does adding mods reduce the quote by £90 ?
----- EDIT
Just checked it over, and changed the mods to basically cover the MP165 (exhaust, filter and engine chip + 10%bhp), and its gone up to £347 ... also tried added suspension (upto 50mm drop) which didnt add any cost!

i have spoken to my insurance company (DIRECT LINE) today and they have said that adding a K&N air filter will increase my premium by 240 squid a year.
i told them it was a performance filter and it added 5% power increase. was i right to tell them this? or is it something different?
cheers

I've applied for loans from 2 different places recently and been refused twice.
I have a stable full time job and can easily afford the payments, however both places declinded me for no obvious reasons.
Just wondered if anyone else has had trouble applying for loans recently and if its linked with this credit crunch business
Cheers

My insurance renewal came through from Elephant at £616.36 so I did a few online quotes and was getting roughly the same, maybe a tiny bit cheaper so I called them and we went through all the policy details and it went down to £563.66. He then went through to the underwriters and came back with £540.55
"Bonus!" thinks I...
I then get my quote from Greenlight at £472.70 and remembering I'd forgotten to mention it was also lowered I called Greenlight and they chucked the lowering on with no addition to the quotation (Elephant charged a mere £13.99 for each mod)... so I call Elephant to see if they'll match or get close to that and they come back with £493.11!
So from starting out at £616.36 in 3 phone calls I was down to £493.11 with the same insurers or change to Greenlight for £472.70
The cautionary tale is in two parts:
1) Always, always,
always ring your insurers when its renewal time and just see what going through the policy details and "seeing what the underwriters can do" will do to the price.. get a couple of quotes (you dont have to spend all day online or on the phone doing this... all this took me about 30mins to an hour max) and see if your current insurers will match or get close to it.
2) Always check what time Greenlight shuts (12 on a Saturday) before going out because I was totally going to swap to them and by the time I got back it was gone 5pm and Elephant had shut too so my policy has automatically renewed with them

Doh...

Just a quick question.....
The option of Policy Upgrade on the windscreen cover, do you need this option if you need autoglass or someone to repair a chip for free?
cheers

Is it illegal to state you drive another vehicle regularly but you actually dont? There was someone on here and in a thread they said to say you do so it bring your insurance premium down..
comment please
