I've got a pre-facelift thumbsup.gif which is coming up to 3 years old now. Remember though that quite a few members on here have also gone from the pre to the newer model.

Not many differences as you say....main ones being lights and dashboard.

would you say they're significant options though? as i'm saving for mine and not financing would you say it'd be better to wait an extra thousand quid or so and get a facelift? and don't be biased, or just get a pre, coz i do like the pre facelift lights more. Phil S, if that's the only difference then i dunno if it'd be worth it to spend more? just general advice

Its common sense mate, i wouldnt buy an older model if you could afford a newer model!, at the end of the day the phase 2 has better options including the all essential trip computer! which the phase 1 doesnt have and it will hold its value better.

And finally the newer car will be more reliable.

The cabin of a facelift has a bit more of a grown up feel about it but unless you're desperate for auto lights and cant possibly turn on your wipers yourself or see that 1-2 mini bars on the prefacelift fuel guage means "fill it up soon-ish" (whereas you get "miles to empty on the facelift) then I cant see why you shouldnt go for a prefacelift (non biased opinion!). If its merely a case of you want to go out and buy one I'd say pre facelift too because they are dropping second hand much more than facelift ones.

My "older car" has been every bit as reliable as any facelift that had exactly the same "characteristics" as pre facelift ones ).gif

for me it was. i wanted power fold mirrors and an mp3 socket which you could not have on the phase 1. there are auto lights and a few other options also

i think also re-sale value you would get more on a phase 2 than a 1. but at the end of the day its what you can afford.

either way there great cars so hurry and get one lol.gif

If you can afford a facelift, then buy one, is my advice. Makes no sense to get an older one unless you really really prefer the old lights and interior.

As with everything it's all down to money....you get what you can afford. At the end of the day it's a great car whichever age you choose thumbsup.gif
