Hi all

My car is currentley in the garage being repaired...long story short, I basically got run off the road returning from France on holiday and had a front end bump....pretty hefty one at that...

Anyway, Ive just been on the phone to the repairers and they say the chassis is slightley bent. Their fitting the front end, bumpers, etc, now but they said there may be complications.

How will this effect the car, i.e. handling, driveability, etc? Is is life threating at the end of the day?...bit worried to be honest...

Are you going through your insurance company? If the chassis is bent i would have thought there is a good chance it's a write off.......

Well I spoke to their admin section (yes its through my insurers) and they said the notes state its "slight" and they may have a bit of trouble lining everything up....

Well, having read the above I was worried to say the least....

Rang my Insurer's, the costs for the damage came to just over £1500 (quite low to be written off)....so I rang the garage back....their fixing it on a 'jig' and its fine....

So so confused......the chassis cant have been damaged surley????

either way the ST is coming back so Im happy P.gif

As long as it's very minor, there is no reason why the car could not be put on a jig and put back straight. ).gif

It should be inspected when the car is complete and signed off as being safe to be back on the road
