Just phoned up to book the 2nd service on the ST.

Final cost is (and I double checked with them) ... £250 :o

£40 for brake fluid change (which the girl said they recomend for every 2nd service), £10 for paint and body check, and £200 for the service itself. the girl did say the prices have just changed, but I have no idea how much by :S

For some reason I agreed to it, but luckily I have a week to shop around.

Firstly ... isn't the paint and body work check included in the service cost ?

The 'shopping' around means I have a choice of 3 Ford dealerships to choose from (being on the Isle of Wight means if I want to go to a mainland dealer, that puts a £40ish ferry ticket on straight away before I do anything).
The garage that I've booked it into is about 5min walk from my work. The next garage I'd use has a Tesco about 10mins away from it, but other than that its a long walk into the nearest town. The last garage is pretty much in the middle of nowhere, surrounded by farms mainly.

I didn't buy my ST from this dealer as they wouldn't budge the price (price being that off of the Ford website) at all when I was looking to buy, so I went to Hendy and got a bargain!

And lastly (for now hehe) ... me Mum got a service offer price through the post (she's never had a service from this dealership, or owned a Ford), and the offer price was £99. I'm going to have a read of the paperwork and see if I can get it with that offer.

Having mine done today and it's going to cost £169.

That said, apparently I need to get a part for it, though they haven't told me what yet, or if I have to pay for it! Guess I'll find out later!

I think im right in saying that the paint stamp is included in the first service only?!

That price sounds quite cheap to me, I spent £180 in the end for my first one..

Sounds about right that they charge you £10-20 to be honest. You have a three year warranty but have to pay for them to check it to be covered...

£250 sounds a bit steep to me, but I have never priced one yet as my car is Sept 08. I got my first service for £99 including paint check. Hope I get as good a deal for second, although it'll be nowhere near £99 unfortunately.

It seems to vary between dealerships - most seem to charge, mine never has.....

Nice one. Mines gonna be cheaper now aswell because i said they dont need to look at a couple things like airfilter, due to the fact its only just been changed.

My third year service recently was about that.

Read in another topic that the service pricing hasn't changed in the last 3 years, and Ford has only just picked up on it. Apparently the service cost should be about £257.
Still haven't checked to see if the offer applies to the ST yet ... how rubbish am I lol

Just called Ford, and they'll do the service for £99 :D not including the paint/body check and brake fluid change ... still better than the £250 originally quoted.

My second service including brake fluid change came in at £185. I just went back in and told them they had forgotten to stamp my paint and body so they did it then. I never ask for the inspection. Didnt know you had to. Oh well Owt for nowt!
