Hi,

Ive got an 08 white ST with full stripes, to be honest I want to tone it down a little and just leave the side stripes and take the over the top stripes off.

If I take them off will there be a colour difference between the paint underneath and the exposed paint?

I also want to return the springs to standard as the potholes are recking my wheels

many thanks

No you'll be absolutely fine. I was worried about the same thing when I de-striped mine (as I had a red car and we all know what red can be like regarding fading), however all was 100% ok.

Also to get rid of any left over glue etc people have found stuff like Turtle Wax Bug & Tar Remover most effective.

Nooooooo.... Leave the stripes on!!! Everyone seems to be de-stripping at the moment.

All will be fine if you take them off. Just give the car a good polish and wax afterwards.

na it will be fine, just heat them up with a hair dryer and pull them off :) just dont pull them towards you.... as i learned the hard way and smacked myself in the face lol, i just used auto glym bug and tar remover after to get the excess glue off :)

Where the stripes had been it did look a little brighter than the exposed paint but i just gave the car a good claying and could never even tell the stripes where there after :)

Leave them on, and , returning your springs to stock wont help with the potholes either.

Many thanks,

Im not going to leave them on, its just too loud, im 28 not 18 anymore, id prefer it to be a little more subtle.

Im hoping to stock springs will help a little as the ride certainly got worse when I first changed them to eibachs, it bottomos out way too much, to be honest im not imprssed the the setup witj eibachs, its just way too crashy, ok on the track but for on the road Id say the stock springs might even be better.

I have the H&R and my onroad ride is about the same as stock, maybe a bit harsher. A ST must have stripes. You might as well drive a normal 1.6 then

I disagree, I think the st in white especially looks more classy with just side stripes, the OTT stripes are too loud.

If you want them off, take them off. Personally I got sick of top stripes and got rid. The side ones are more than enough.

And yes, the standard springs will help. It' might only be slight, but I'm guessing you're after at least some relief.
