If an advert is in the paper, it can't be replied to, not in a way that others can see, and that is how it is on here. Advert goes up with price and contact number and you can PM or ring them.

We've discussed this issue many times with the other clubs (Mondeo, Focus ST & RS) and struggle to come up with a workable, cost free solution :nope:

Thats where the problem is though, there is no price! It's been a long time since I have seen a for sale thread with any indication of price on it at all. It's more of a constant guage interest/pm bid war.

IMO all you need is a moderater to oversee that the rules created and agreed to are adhered to within the posts. I don't see how that will cost any more money? I'm sure loads of people would volunteer for the role.

I'm not going to give up my one-man-fight ;) I really think its something that can be done with no cost and would improve it loads.

Yes, I agree people posting for sale threads without a price for parts still on their car is crazy, I can't stand people who do this :nope:

If you'd seen the amount of hours I've spent maintaining this section, you'd be quite shocked. It is far from as simple as you think :p

It is not up to me to decide the rules, just looking for ideas. Jim would be the one to say whether we delete time waster threads, I will mention it :)

Just as a heads up. I am now testing out a new Classifieds System.

It will have to have a price, and in certain sections pictures. There will be a trade/offers section of some kind.

There will be a 'latest classifieds' on the board index.

There is a "Questions & Answers" section. (note it doesn't say comments, which is why we stopped replying on here).

There is also an ebay feedback system (although there is more testing required).

I may be allowing Forum users to post adverts at a reasonable charge.

There will be a 'featured' style advert for a small charge.

Ads WILL expired after set periods of time.

Whats your thoughts on a regional section where "pick up only" may apply to avoid postage costs. Northern Ireland could do with it as most of our members generally sell to each other rather than post away to the main land UK. Not being aloud to post for sale topics in the regional area of the fourm where the biggest chance of getting a buyer for your car/parts etc..... can be fustrating for some members.

In the current section you cant see if something close to home has come up for sale that could only be up the road from where you live. Is it possible to have a hidden section with in regions that only paid up club members can see?
