I know its an old thread but my mk7 st180 has exactly the same symptoms. Is the pcv hose in the same place on the mk7?

different with the mk7 being turbo. The crankcase breather on the mk7 looks to feed into the cam cover and the PCV valve is somewhere else on the inlet
