So, after a very short period of been fiesta-less, the void how now been filled.
For anyone interested in my old fiesta, see this link -
https://www.fiestast...going-progress/
On Wednesday evening we set off on a 1500 mile round trip to collect the toy from Germany, with a little detour to Hockenhiem ring to watch some DTM practice.
I wanted something to a bit more simple but well built to give me the opportunity to work on and learn more from.
The choice was a German ex race car from the ADAC Procar 1600 ETCC race series.
Although its a bit rough around the edges, I'm looking forward to tidying up, improving on whats already there and getting out and using it.

@Rob084551 get a project thread going, I'd love to see the progress!
Not an ST but I'm sure people wouldn't mind it being in the Custom | Unique Project Work section either.
Did want to put it in that section but thought it might get kicked to this section, maybe an admins opinion on moving it?

Few pictures from the Hockenheim Ring on Friday, we followed the signs to the pit lane and finally got to security where they asked for teams tickets and passes, obviously we didn't have any but somehow in true English fashion we managed to talk our way out of been turned around and they let us through.
Because we had the car and the trailer on the back we then got directed to park next to the race wagons and ended up standing on the pit lane wall watching the DTM practice sessions.
Great experience at a track with so much heritage

Took the seat out last night, looking to sell it and buy something a bit cheaper but still carbon.
Seems a bit of a waste on me and the money its worth could be used towards other things for the car.
It is definitely the comfiest bucket seat I've ever sat in though and it only weighs 5.5kg!
See attached a picture of what they cost new

What's the plan for this car? Is it road legal at all? Will you be entering a championship of some kind?

More than most people's Mk6's are worth...
I’m sure it doesn’t have the sentimental value though!

No it’s not road legal mate, I’d like to do some racing but it won’t be in the immediate future, in the mean time I’d like to tidy it up a bit and make sure it’s at its potential, get used to driving n/a again (and on the wrong side of the car) and generally just enjoy it!

Heck, I paid less than that for mine in 2010
Had more than my money's worth out of it though.

How much power does your massive 2.0 produce in standard form...?@AMc it's us who are the ones supposed to be doing the chain yanking... After all we all know 2.0 > 1.6 > 1.5

Anyway, digressing from his thread.
