My dashboard has got a bit damaged taking it out of the car, got only knows how they got it in with the cage.

Id been looking for a second hand one to use but finding a second hand left hand drive Mk7 dash is like finding hens teeth, and the ones I found abroad were £600+.

Luckily this little gem popped up for sale the other day, left hand drive Mk7 fiesta dash flocked out of an R2 rally car for £100.

Seemed daft to turn it down seen as though it would cost more than that to get my broken one flocked.

Ive done a little trimming and mocked up fitting for when the cars painted.

Car has gone to the spray shop for paint, be a few weeks as the owner is off away for a bit in the middle.

Changed my mind on the colour about 3 times already but there's still time to decide

UPDATE

Car took a while to prep because the paint was :censored: and there was primer missing pretty much everywhere so it mostly directly onto metal so flaked wherever they tried to prep, then my painter had a mountain biking accident and smashed his shoulder so that has caused big delays, hoping to be in etch primer in the next week or two though.

Had time to finish the rad pack and given the garage a tidy and a fresh coat of floor paint.

Some pictures below..

A few more paint pictures, the paint was so terrible inside and out there was a single layer of paint straight onto the metal.

This was all removed, the car etch primed and the arches and underside given a light coat of gravitex.

Inside on with painting, underside and outside to continue.

So the car shell is painted and back rolling, home in the garage and have started building back up. The panels are still being painted and Im waiting for them to be dropped off in the next few weeks.

So much for painting the outside white again!

Ill let the pictures do the talking.

Thanks guys, so chuffed with the result!

Spent ages debating what colour to do it, should it be something a bit different or just white.

Its not everyday you get the opportunity to get a full car resprayed in any colour you want so I went with one of my favourite colours, Porsche Viper Green or Vipergrun, a solid colour previously used on 1970 Porsche and more recently seen on newer Porsche GT RS models and also Audis RS models.

At one point the battle to even get hold of paint and at a financially viable price made me think we were just going to end up doing white, lets face it no one wants to pay £380 per litre for paint from Porsche when the car you have needs 5 Litres and its more than likely going to get scraped and scratched on track!

Hopefully getting the rest of the bodywork back this week to carry on building, once the loom is in place i'll then start on the fuel system.
