  1. Mk8 Brakes, Wheels & Tyres
Hi all, My 68 plate is still on the factory set of tyres, but at 17,500 miles it's time to plan a new set of boots. I've noticed run flats as an option on Black Circles for my ST3s 18in rims.... Has anyone fitted run flats to their ST? If so, how has it affected ride and noise?

Has anyone got any recommendations on the best option for Tyres for the ST3 18"? My tryes on the front are pretty much shot and Ive got a Stage 3 booked for after the lockdown and would like to get the tyres sorted first.

I started out with PS4's all round which did perform well even after i'd got the revo stage 1 map, i did quickly go through my fronts after the map as a result . so went for a service at ford and got tyres fitted whilst i was there but the only issue was that they didnt have any PS4's...

Michelin's 225 - 40 - 18 considerably cheaper than the 205mm wide version but struggling to decide on which - the car was allegedly designed and engineered to run on 205's so wary of upsetting the 'balance' of the car. The wider tyre provides a bigger contact patch so more grip in the dry but...

HI, I've currently got the default michelin cup tyres on my Mk8 ST, and while they're awesome on a dry summers day, they're not so great in slippery conditions, and even worse when the temp is below 5 degrees. I've also noticed the wear (for being under a year) is high - could also be my...
  7. Fiesta ST MK8 Discussion
The Fiesta ST3 Mk 8 comes with an excellent set of Michelin Pilot Super Sports as the standard option in a size of 205/40 R18 86(y). Great set of tyres. I've just been researching replacements for these and it seems Michelin does not make these tyres in the size supplied. Which is odd as they...

Hi, Just thought I'd pop this in if anyone was interested, F1 Autocentres have a proce promise guarantee to match a competitor price plus 10%. I asked them to price match ATS Euomaster on a set of Avon ZZ5's but F1 couldn't source a set from anywhere so asked if I was interested in any of...

Hello all, This is a thread specifically about Bridgestone Potenza RE050A, the OE tyre on the Mk7 Fiesta ST. I am not looking for tyre recommendations, those discussions are for another thread. Is this tyre being discontinued in the size 205 40 R17? All tyre websites either seem to be out of...
  10. Mk7 Brakes, Wheels & Tyres
Hi all, First post on the forum yadda yadda. Yesterday i got new tyres on the rear of my car (MK7 ST2), since then it seems like the steering is very darty and unstable above ~45mph. Note: - Front tyres wore low so i swapped them to the rear, didnt make any difference to handling. Drove like...

I know tyres get discussed a lot on this forum, but I searched and couldnt see a mention of these. Anyone using or used the Falkens in the description. Low noise rating and A rated for wet grip. Just after a real world opinion. Thanks all.

Hello forum, Just interested to know what are the widest wheels you can fit on an ST without rubbing or too much poke? If you've fitted some wide aftermarket wheels I'd be intersted t to know your setup? Thanks Chris

Hello all, i need some advice, I have a stock Mk7 ST and I'm going to be doing a few track days this year, I currently have Toyo T1-r's on the front wheels and the stock bridgestones on the back. My plan was to change the bridgestones for Toyo R888R's and keep them on the back for daily driving...

Just had some soft toyo R888's fitted yesterday. I haven't done many miles on them yet so will have to report back later. A bit of an experiment, and I don't expect them to last long... DaveW

Hi All I have just had my first service for my Mountune ST at a main Ford dealer. I asked for the front and rear wheels to be swapped in order to even the tyre wear. I work for a major tyre manufacturer and we have always been told that when the rear tyres go to the front they should swap...
