Car porn lol

Hi all, just to clear up any issues on this sensitive subject.

I call it a database but it is simply a folder full of images. I have scoured the classified adverts since around 6 months after the ST went on sale. Literally saving images of cars for sale online. I have no personal information of people, just simply images of cars. All images are source from public websites, there are a lot of classified sites out there.

As someone mentioned, it would be useful in many years to come and that's kind of why I started collecting images. I am CRB checked in line with my old job and I do not have a criminal record or any links with criminality. It's purely a personal collection of vehicle images that will sit there increasing as time goes on. I do not have access to anyone's personal information, and my employment does not involve having access to a national database.

I started years ago, trying to do the same with the Mk1 Fiesta XR2, having owned 12 of them I started collecting images. But the XR2 was 17 years old when I started and soon realised it was an impossible task to try and catch up. So I gave up and gave the information to one of the club registrars.

I can assure anyone that these images I have are for personal use, not financial gain or any other activity. In years to come I will have an even bigger list and I have, as yet, no intended purpose for such a collection. Can you imagine trying to publish a 10,000 item database?! Impossible and not my intention at all.

It is not my intention to hold sensitive information on people, as I too myself would not be happy about this, especially with the theft issues of new Fords currently.

I hope that clears up any doubts/thoughts/accusations anyone had/has.

On a plus side this huge database I have, does have positives. It allows myths to be quashed and information to be gathered. For example like the molten orange seats in a race red body colour.

I'm sure I'm not the only one currently collecting images of ST's, but I bet I'm the only one who's come on a public forum and opened up about it, and of course this can be of beneficial use.

Regards
Tim

Ford do seem to have got their act together lately now that all 'hot' models come under the Ford Performance umbrella. The mk7 ST took an absolute age to come out (5 years to be precise) but think everyone agrees it was well worth it! So I can't see it being anything like that now, but probably will still be 2/3 years after the mk8 debut

The mk8 will no doubt have a facelift during its production cycle, but hopefully it will be a subtle facelift like the Mk6, where they changed lights and trim rather than the whole front end like on the Mk7. Therefore if it's a subtle facelift then the Mk8 ST should be released not long after the shape is launched.

Hopefully!

Seems there's a lot of mixed figures out there particularly in reference to the ST200 and how it compares to the standard ST and the MP215 upgrade so I thought I'd spend some time on the Mountune and Ford website and pull this together.

I know there was a lot of confusion on the ST200 specification when it was announced and then again at the first press drives however these figures are from the developers (Ford and Mountune) and as factual as anyone can reasonably expect.

If someone can reference a Ford web page or publication or a Mountune web page or publication which states otherwise to these figures then please provide the evidence and I will update this post.

ST Standard
HP - 182PS
Torque - 240Nm
O/B HP - 200PS
O/B Torque - 290Nm
0-60 - 6.9s
In gear
31-62, 6.4s
Final drive 3.82:1

ST200
HP - 200PS
Torque - 290Nm
O/B HP - 215PS
O/B Torque - 320Nm
0-60 - 6.7s
In gear
31 - 62, 5.2s
Final drive 4.06:1

Ford web page & ST200

ST MP215
HP - 215PS
O/B - N/A, overboost removed with MP215 calibration
Torque - 320Nm
0-60 - 6.4s
In gear
31-62, 5.7s (0.7s quicker than standard ST)
Final drive 3.82:1

Mountune page

Sentences to note on the ST 200

"The acclaimed Ford Fiesta ST compact hot hatch is about to get even hotter. Ford will today reveal ahead of the Geneva Motor Show a new Ford Fiesta ST200 model that delivers 10 per cent more power and 20 per cent more torque, with 200PS and 290Nm from a specially calibrated 1.6-litre EcoBoost petrol engine.

The most powerful production Fiesta ever, the Fiesta ST200 will sprint from 0-62mph in 6.7sec, and will feature an exclusive specification including a unique Storm Grey exterior, distinctive machined matt black alloy wheels and special interior detailing"

"The Fiesta ST200s 1.6-litre EcoBoost engine can deliver an additional 15PS and 30Nm of torque for up to 15 seconds using transient overboost"

And from this link on the Ford website ST200

Power has increased from 182PS to 200PS with 215PS Overboost. The new transmission, with shorter Final Drive, has been engineered to give noticeably faster acceleration across all the gears, creating a supremely thrilling driving experience.

The original Fiesta ST was lauded and awarded by critics. The limited edition Fiesta ST200, is even more special, with a specially-tuned engine that can deliver 200PS, and 215PS on Overboost."
