Just wondering what the difference between how many "pots" there is on different brake kits and what kind advantages and disadvantages there is to having more or less pots
from the reading up I have done. the number of pots for the same ish size caliper equate to the same amount of surface area of pressure on the back of the pad.
as above, you could also use a 6 piston setup to make a thinner caliper for packaging, like how the tar ox 6 pots don't need 15mm spacers, just 5. but they are only 300mm disks not 318 mm like the Alcon's I have. also disks thickness will come into play at some point I guess.
good video. I could tell with my old single piece disks what he was saying about the disk movement on 4 piston calipers. because the calipers arn't floating they don't correct it so when hot I use to get a wheel wobble or slightly soft brake pedal that would instantly then go hard again. not had that feeling since having the 2 piece disks on track, that explains why the car feels much smoother when hot than before.
