Hey guys, I'm looking at a full turbo back exhaust including decat on my ST. the car is still on the standard map and I was wondering if that would cause any issues other than the engine light? Any advice/knowledge would be great! The car will get a map but not right away as I don't have all the parts for stage two!

Decat will more than likely throw up Engine Management light on standard map, best get a map to suit

Or splash out on a Sports Cat and stay legal on the roads? :ninja:
yeah I understand that will be the main issue can expect anything else? map will come just when I have all the hardware! Got a good deal on the system so will be sticking with it don't currently have the funds for a sports cat!

Brace yourself for the CP2 fan boy responses lol

Have a look at Collins Performance though. No need for all the hardware to support the stage 2 map. Doesn't answer your question, but may help you explore other options
Ah ok might be worth a look thanks! have pretty much decided on a company to get the map done but will definitely look into this

Hoping to eventually get to stage two! looking at keeping the car for a long time so hoping to eventually get some track time in it when i'm done with uni haha. Yourself?
Had mine for 2 and half years now and went down the Mountune route after a few months of ownership. It's MP215 but I also have most of the supporting mods on it to go MR230 plus a couple of other bits (short shifter, springs and roll restrictor)

I purchased the extended warranty when I bought the car from new as I intend to also keep it a long time hence why I've used MT parts etc plus they are quite local to me.

Have a look at the ramair sports cat, not much more than a decat

Keeps you legal too

I don't see why anyone would want a decat for anything other than track use. Hardly worth the stress come mot time.
Also surprised there isn't a law against fitting them to a car they know is for road use.
The law is that they're illegal and invalidate your insurance and MOT. If mr plod wanted to inspect you car and found you had a decat you would be technically driving without valid insurance and they can impound your car (worst case). Hence why every manufacturer say decat not suitable for road use

don't currently have the funds for a sports cat!
But you will have the funds to stump up in the event you are caught with it and fined/pay to get your car back out of the impound etc?

As mentioned in this thread, not worth it. The standard cat is fine, decat is just for noise these days, cars are designed to run with cats so removing them makes very little difference on performance.

Just to echo what others have said already really.

If you're planning to go stage 2, CP2 is the the way, as it's fine with standard cat. don't really need a sports cat anyway tbh -and DON'T get a decat.

Plus you can get CP2 at anytime, and unlock more potential in the mapping as and when your time and funds allow you to add more hardware. As @Jaf2212 himself recently ran 236bhp with just intercooler and ITG - still standard exhaust and cat. For the same money, you would benefit more from an uprated intercooler - as with standard cooler you really do feel the heatsoaking effect in warm weather. I did last year, even at stage 1 revo.

As a bonus, it's also financially economical it's a stage 1 + 2 map in one :D

And this is coming froma revo guy haha. Love revo not gunna' lie!!
