Yeah, their own rally car! :giggle:

Let's go on! ;)

Then I phoned the dealership to make an appointment to pick-up the car, but the salesman doesn't work on Monday and somebody else couldn't deliver the car, cause some were on holiday, others didn't know about anything, papers still need to be arranged.

But I picked up another update to my car, the carbon look surrounding for around the gearknob on Monday July 21, 2021...

For those who like, the FINIS

Seller and I called eachochter on Tuesday July 20, 2021 to arrange transfer as he left on Wednesday July 21 2021 on a motorcycle trip so he asked when we were going to pick up the car, so after work first drove home, left Mondeo at home and my father came by to pick up the car, together with my wife. Dealer closes at 7pm, but seller still waited until I got there (7:30pm).

We had a short (long) chat, refueled the car with Shell V-Power (otherwise could only drive 12 km) and then on our way for an evening at sea...

And of course... the first night in our garage

First thing I did was placing the shorter antenna

FIRST

AFTER

Then I noticed a problem with the headlight, was placed incorrectly

So I went to dealership on Monday July 26, 2021 to fix this problem...

But once we arrived at our destination afterwards, I noticed another problem, now with one of the seats, the passenger's seat to be exact.

A little hole in the leather...

I phoned the dealership again to make notice of this and they told me they would solve this problem.

But once at dealership, one of the chefs told me they wouldn't replace it, cause they thought one my children did this with one of their shoes when entering/leaving the car. They told me to return later on once the salesman was back from holiday, he had to make the decision...

So a bit out of frustration, I already placed another update to my car, those surrounding I bought earlier on.

Original one on the left, new carbon look one on the right

Original one without the 12V

12V in the new one

And placed in the car

Friday October 8, 2021 I already started installing the gas struts for the hood, it took a while, because I was looking for black bolts, nuts and washers.

Washers were the correct size M6, but they were still too small to mount, so I used the original ones that came with the gas struts of NB styling, then I coated those with black paint (Panther Black --> in fact my touch up pen from the Mondeo 😆) and mounted those. The struts themselves were not installed immediately, because I first secured everything with Loctite, maybe not necessary, but I did it anyway and let those cure.

The next day I was to mount the struts, but the fasteners that were already attached to the plates (see photos 1 and 3) were not fully tightened, factory-fitted, so I unscrewed them, provided them with Loctite and fastened them back with key 10.

So then I waited a couple of days before I mounted the struts, because I didn't know exactly how long Loctite 243 had to cure...

RIGHT SIDE

I also had a look what u need to change when u want to use the Facelift PCM firmware on your car.
It seems u need to place a new EOP (Oil Pressure Sensor), those of the Facelift.

Old: GN1A-9D290-BA
New: GN1A-9D290-CB (FINIS 2 529 040)

If u don't change this sensor, u get a DTC

Almost at the end of my current story, but be assured there will be updates afterwards aswell ;)

Wednesday March 23, 2022 I placed my CEUK LED fog lights I bought along time ago

Then the week after (Tuesday March 29, 2022) I placed my CEUK side repeaters...
Easy peasy... Unclip the cover, unscrew the screw from the unit, remove the unit, remove the light, put in the new unit, refit the screw and put the mirror cover back on... ;)

FIRST

AFTER

FINISHED

The latest update done to my car is the installment of the new start button

FIRST

Difference between both start buttons

Rear SYNC3 screen

DURING

New start button, mounted

AFTER

Cover plate that I once ordered from Ford, originally it was just a black plate, same look as those surrounding around the gearknob, to cover those bolts behind SYNC3 screen, so now I also have those in OEM carbon look...

THE STORY CONTINUES...!!!

Indeed and the most difficult part of this was removing the old button...

Cause on both sides of the button there is a clip u need to press and only one is (barely) reachable.

Once the furthest clip is pressed, then u need to push the button from behind till it pops off, but a real pain in the ass to do so...

What they do I don't know, but they are called Insulators...

In the past they were placed on the car, but due cost cut, they left them out, but u can always order them again if u want.

But if possible, I retrofit most of the stuff left out

Yesterday (Tuesday, April 5, 2022) I already removed the stick, after asking how you can disassemble the holder earlier on and getting an answer of course, didn't want to screw this up, this is now done aswell.

So today (Wednesday 6 April 2022) the mod (Gas struts) is totally finished!

So today (Friday, April 8, 2022) put the handbrake handle, after I got it from my parents...

But what a bitch to get the cover back over the handbrake handle, yesterday at my parents' car had much less problems with it, but well, it worked...
