100KG makes a LOT of difference. Plus MK7's don't look like a C-Max. People who drive MK7's are much cooler and they have more £ because by now most of them own their cars and are not renting them off Ford. So there.
They have a 20 bhp "over boost" function

Yeah, didn't really work though as the thefts sky rocketed the insurance bracket anyway 😆
Was a sneaky attempt by Ford to gain a larger market from the offset as EU legislation meant the lower output could be used for insurance bracketing, apparently.

But yes, 100 kg is in fact a big deal in this power range especially.
Japanese manufacturers have been doing that HP thing for a while until recently, I think.

If we are taking weight into consideration the 5 door Mk8 is heavier again than the 3 door by an extra ~23kg based on Fords printed figures.
It's not going to be noticable on the road but based on equal drivers on track look at how that kind of weight hurts touring car lap times in the BTCC when carrying even modest success ballast with more powerful cars than the Fiesta.

Enough to tip the car over if you go round a corner too fast. Thankfully I’ve not done that yet
Funny you should say that, my car gets noticeably slower and noisier (and generally less enjoyable to drive) when my wife's in the car. 😂

Shouting and screaming I can cope with, try being married to a 'grabber'.
She does it when there's no danger at all but if something spooks her she grabs my left arm or leg... I mean how in the name of sweet baby Jesus is that supposed to assist my ability to avoid the danger if there actually was any 🤷🏻

I've test driven both in a direct comparison - the fiesta won
By a mm to be fair! Joking aside, there is nothing in it, the i20n is a tinsy bit faster in a straight line, has more jazzy, flashing toys and will attract young people more in a fast & furious way, the fiesta is just easier to get in and get grinning as you hang tight to a bend and has a different approach to life. Either way, its ruddy great the i20n exists and its a crying shame the fiesta wont for much longer.Why oh why wont Ford consider an electric version

Maybe range is the reason for no electric Fiesta but it doesn't hold back the E mini which gets good reviews as an electric warm hatch but probably it's more likely down to Ford pairing up with VW for electric platforms and the ID3/Born platform is closer in size to the Focus. That said even the Focus name won't carry over but given the current fad for bringing back past names I'm going for it being a new Ford Escort 🤷♂️I've test driven both in a direct comparison - the fiesta won
