Hi All,

Well, my all action day of refiiting front suspension has bombed out, I'm knackered
Motivated myself to angle grind the n/s tie rod off the ar bar and then gave up playing with cars today

Mr postman bought me presents:

Shoe Computer keyboard Automotive design Space bar Wood

Front grille vents, to get cold air to the air filter, I'm amazed what can be done with a 3d printer (thx Matt Emmins, check out his fb page)

Cheers Marv,
I'm dubious about an hour, as everything on this car appears to be siezed solid :ROFLMAO:
I changed mine recently from bc v1's to bc br's, it took about 3 hours because 3 of 4 rear top mount bolts were f'd. It's my own fault for putting mashed bolts back in years ago when the V1's went on.
I ended up using an erbauer bolt & nut remover kit. Great kit for bolts with mashed heads. Got it from screwfix.

Hi All,

The autobeam post was yesterday,I forgot to press "post" doh.

Shattered today after being up for work @ 04:00, but really need car back on road for weekend

N/S nearly there, not sure about the tie rods as on the long setting they are pretty much on min, but the middle length tube only has about 15mm thread in the pipe.

Gonna go over what Marv said about fitting and make sure I've understood.

Realised I should have put brake pipe in before fitting caliper as hose twisted - doh.

I've got new top mounts but tbh if the bolts are knackered I'll just leave the old mounts in (until its warmer :ROFLMAO: )
I'll check out that kit, got a feeling I'm gonna need it.

This is rapidly becoming a nightmare,
Got the o/s strut/hub assy in, but cant get the bottom ball joint to locate as the hub won't go back enough on the cv joint.
Had to fit the disc/carrier/caliper to stop the hub turning so I can hopefully use the hubnut to pull the cv joint into the hub
Pitch black now so stopped :(:cry::cry::cry::(

Make sure it's sitting correctly on the splines (greased), then gun the hub nut up till the shaft stops pulling and torque to spec.
Thats how I've always done it when doing gearbox/engine swaps, clutches etc.

Then use a jack to support the hub, align the shock into the hub, gently jack whilst tapping the side of the hub around the shock and it'll slip in. In a rather sexual manner if executed right haha.

Hi All,

Waiting for friend to come round and help try and get driveshaft(s) back in.

Cut holes in front lower grille and loose mounted cold air vents

Automotive parking light Grille Car Vehicle registration plate Vehicle

Got to Slightly trim the backing plates as I've fitted ever so slightly too far out and the backing plate fouls on the grille clip.
Not sure about colour, options:
Silver ( to match car )
Black ( but I don't want to paint grille )
ST Red ( To bright ? )

What do you think ?

Another little goody I bought :

Road surface Automotive tire Grass Flooring Wood

Rear Towing loop cover ( going to spray silver, with ST logo red )

Hi All,

While I was mucking about with the grille, I saw some kind of broken shroud.

So Investigated....

Tire Grille Vehicle registration plate Hood Automotive tire

It appears to be the radiator shroud,

Automotive tire Road surface Tread Asphalt Bumper

Has anyone got one their not needing ??

If not I guess its super glue time until I can find one o_O
.
Not sure if the shading on the bottom corner is water thats got in (as the cars been parked up with the grille off) or the radiators on its way out o_O

any ideas ? - I'm not loosing fluid

Hi all,
Well, todays been a bit of a let down as we found the o/s outer cv joint had come off the driveshaft, we couldn't get it back on and hard as I find to believe it, I couldn't find anyone local to me to get a cv gaitor, so I bit the bullet and ordered a new outer cv joint kit, hopefully it will go on easier than the one on the car.

Took the opportunity to clean down the front of the car, found a few areas of surface rust I'll take care of when it get warmer.

Got my autobeam led indicator bulbs and led front fogs being delivered tommorrow, so I can rebuild the front end after fitting the headlights, thereby not ripping great chunks of flesh out of my fingers :ROFLMAO:

Hoping the new cv joint will arrive sometime tommorrow, but if not will be fitting ( or trying to fit ) the goodrich front hoses and reconditioned calipers.

Have a feeling these won't fit

Hi All,

Well, finally, all back together.

Wheel Tire Car Automotive parking light Vehicle

What a load of grief, just to fit new socks and focus discs !!!!
Fitted the bumper using the new fixings, the SS bolts were good but the others iffy, so I'll be cleaning up the OEM fittings and refitting when its warmer.
Don't know if its anything to do with all the LEDs that have been fitted, but the battery died last week, I trickle charged it and refitted, but this morning its dead again, I know its been cold and winter does tend to kill batteries, so I've got a new one on order.
Thanks for everyones help and comments
