I'm trying to find a nice solution to the hideous 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system on a Ford Fiesta 8.5 ST3. Has anyone found something that's less intrusive, smaller, prettier, just less in your face than the standard one?

I imagine it will be a lot of work to change it, half of the dashboard would have to changed to accommodate something that isn’t the same size

It does have a screen off button.

Mine is off probably off between half and three quarters of the time, but 100% at night.

Also, notwithstanding the ability to turn it off, did you not test drive the car? I would've thought the unsuitability of the Sync 3 for you would've been immediately apparent on driving it? 🤔

I'm the resident Grinch on here for tech and gizmos, yet even I can see there's no real getting away from these things in modern cars. They all have a 'tech tombstone' on the dash.

All good advice and thanks. Turning it off sure but it's still there! Yes test drove the car and loved it hence why we're buying one but still the lump of a screen is a real isore but not enough to not buy one.

i find the position of the screen a bit odd, its almost like it tilts slightly away from the driver.

Seems a bit strange/naff.
