I've got a k&n and have had no problems in the winter!
Now it's got warmer I'm looking for a heatshield...
If I could go back I would of brought a mountune cais..
The k&n does feed alot stronger in cold weather !!

the mountune cais is a semi sealed air box with a k&n inside.
it uses the cold air dam from the front panel that is typically used by the standard system.
it also has a cold air pipe which is most often mounted to the lower grill section.

i maybe wrong, but i think the mountune k&n is slightly larger than the 57i filter?
i can't quite remember.

the main benefit of the mountune air box is that it helps create a cooler environment for the filter to operate. and has a refined system for making sure the cold air is directed to it.

I have the k&n and I would say if you have the extra money
It's well worth it.. The mountune cais is a k&n but it has a semi
Enclosed heatshield around it and does help so much with keeping
Inlet temps down = (more power)
