Within a week of getting my new mk8 I had a couple of drips of water on the left side of the dash following very heavy rain.
If I put a dry tissue up to the top of the screen it was damp on that side.
So, into the dealer the car went late last week. They confirmed they thought screen was leaking and a specialist company were in today to remove and re-fit the screen.
Trying not to let this stress me as these things happen.
Hopefully collecting the car tomorrow.

Could be a one off. Machine/technician ran out of enough sealant when fitting on production line.

Time will tell I suppose.

Yes, something as simple as an air bubble in the sealant might be a cause. Leak is very small. 🤞

Just being nosey but they dont have sunroofs in the MK8 ST do they? I only ask as ive experienced the roof drains that usually run through the pillars leaking on a few cars over the years, the pipes can get knicked during install or pulled off the connectors at the top or bottom of the drain , if pulled off at the top the water drains down inside the pillars, if at the bottom the foot well ends up wet normally.

Thanks for that, yes it does have a sunroof.
I'd hope they have ruled that out during their testing.

If it still leaks run the sun roof back and look in the front corners for drain holes, carefully pour some water down the drain hole in the front passenger corner if it has a drain there and see if you can replicate the dribble.

Thanks for that.
I would hope the dealer has been through an appropriate fault finding process.
Screen has been out and replaced. They are giving it a final test tomorrow. 🤞🤞🤞

Well, got my car back.
Windscreen company said there was a slight fault with sealant at one point.
Car sat for 24 hours then re-tested. Dealer confident all sorted.
Great to have it back.
Loan car, Puma ST Line was OK. Thought the LED screen was pretty poor, speedo and especially the rev counter are rubbish.
The hybrid aspect of the car was weird, whenever you take your foot off the accelerator it was like the car put the brakes on. Must be some drag it puts on to re-charge the batteries.
Was like getting a brand new car again, it has only done 250 miles.
