Ahh I see! 👍🏼 I have the OMP Subframes and they must stand slightly higher at the back as I can’t even wind in M10 x 23mm eyebolts in 🤨
That's exactly why I changed to unf, because the inside rear fixing point requires a 50mm bolt to get 1.5x thread diameters worth of purchase. On the outside rear a 23mm anchor bolt is fine.
I just couldn't get a 8.8 high tensile anchor bolt that was m10x50mm. So I swapped to unf, which as an added bonus is safer having a fine pitch to it.

Yet another mini update.
Finally stopped messing around and got the right cage in my car. No more soft play yellow.
So, the plates are now tacked in place. All that I need to do now is speak to my guy who's welding it and organise some time for him to come and do it.
This is the 2nd cage from jp. Fits perfectly. The colour is 100% better on this one. The last one looked like a dodgem, this one looks somewhere between moondust and gun metal.

So, I actually washed the car today. Ready for a breakfast meet tomorrow. Apparently its a high calibre of classics (E30 M3 etc), so let's see how this shed does.

Spent a bit of time last night getting a mates cage in. This car started it's life as a 1.2 which we ended up K20 swapping a few years ago.

Anyway, here's a short time-lapse of the partial f'ing about we did.

He's now ready for the 18th so we can have both cars welded at once.

So the cage is all in. I only took 2 photos and neither are of the cage.

I'm going to have to halfcut the door cards to clear the door bars, which I am more than happy to do. I also need taller side mounts for the passenger seat. Which are now on route.

Other than that. Its just cutting the dash to fit.

Thanks mate, but I'm not fussed about cutting these ones up. I'm just going to lop the bottom half off on the swage line.

Just had a quick cut and mock up this afternoon.

Does the job. Nice and sturdy. Original door card weighed in at 3kgs. New half cut weighs in at 1.6kgs.
Not that I'm doing this for weight. It's just further cutting the fat. And I have door cards that fit.
