HI All,

Had a nice little trip today to Chester, from London, to pick up a 1.6 Zetec S

Wheel Automotive parking light Car Tire Vehicle

Very clean, 97K on clock - paid £1850.

Only issues I've found are:
Airbag light on
Nasty noise from O/S electric window when initially going down.

It drives really well , so stopped off at breakers in Birmingham and treated it to these:

Automotive design Motor vehicle Armrest Vehicle Head restraint

Full leather interior, I was resigned to fitting ST leather seats, but apparently these are out of a special edition Zetec. Not heated, but the heated ones in my ST arn't all that so I'm really not bothered.
Gonna clean up toimmorrow with leather cleaner and then fit (y)

Hi All,

Airbag problem resolved, o/s/f seat wasn't plugged in (y)
I'll strip down o/s/f door tommorrow to try and get to the bottom of the window noise

OK, so got a few mods planned

zetec wheels will go onto her 1.2, her ST wheels will be refurbed and go onto my zetec, after ive fitted the 35mm lowering springs
refurbed rear axle will go onto my ST and the old st rear axle once refurbed will go onto the zetec

this will all happen next year but in the meantime bought this:

Bicycle part Font Auto part Gas Automotive wheel system

Hopefully one of my filters will fit

Hi All,

Had a go @ sorting the clunk from the o/s window today, made small progress.
Stripped out door card to get to this:

Automotive tire Motor vehicle Bumper Gas Automotive exterior

Took out all the gold bolts and motor, but can't get the plastic inner cover off.
Had a search and found a post about removing the round sticky inspection covers so did and found this:
Tire Wheel Automotive tire Motor vehicle Alloy wheel

Rear glass mount has broken alllowing window to stick until front mount pulls whole window down with a clunk.
Can I replace just this plastic clip ?
I can't get the link to the ford partsfiches to work anymore.
How do I get the plastic shroud off ?

Thx Alan

Nice car, looks in very good condition.
Bonnet struts are a very worthwhile mod

Have the fog light surrounds been painted body colour or is it just the light?

The glass on mine used to stick after I had a broken window replaced, but when going up, a quick reverse back down and it released and then went up normal again.

Hi Jimmy,
Cheers mate :)
I posted the wrong like as I've bought boot spring assisted struts ( plan on Bonnet struts a bit later )
The fog light surrounds are OEM plastic.

Hi All,

Managed to get a pair of side skirts to complete the ST bodykit, probably will go for lazer printed jacking point covers unless I can find some cheep OEM ones

Last step will be fitting colour coded mirrors, as the zetec has the bog standard ones

Automotive tire Road surface Automotive exterior Asphalt Vehicle door

Are all MK6 St mirrors the same ( ie pre/post facelift )

Lowering springs arrived this morning ( 35mm drop )

Food Ingredient Recipe Baked goods Cuisine

I'm not planning on changing the shocks, is it possible to change the springs on the front without removing the shocks from the hubs ?

Many thanks

Hi All,

Spoke to my tame ST breakers - apperently pre and post face lift mirrors have difference plugs, so he's put me a set aside along with leather front door cards.

Got a set of side trims

Plant Grass Automotive tire Grass family Shrub

and fitting kit

Body jewelry Art Jewellery Circle Wood

But not sure if the mounting holes will already be in the body shell or I'll have to drill new holes - any ideas ?

THx Alan

I like em without the side skirts!

No you'll have to remove the shock from the hub to do the fronts (which is a bit of a faff - a 3/8 square socket drive to pry open the pinch bolt flange helps)... unless you want to remove the entire hub

Hi Jimmy,

Don't know why I pressed "like" there should be a "FFS" button for when people tell you what you were suspecting but didn't want confirmed !!

Still waiting for the o/s window regulator, starting to bug me driving round with half the door card hanging off.
Hopefully it will be here tommorrow, I can get it fitted and get back to the ST.

Hi All,

I've been thinking about changing the exhaust on the zetec and was thinking of this :

Font Poster Automotive lighting Gas Auto part

Really happy with the MIltek system on the ST , so imagine my suprise when earlier I went to look at my tailpipe and saw this :

Automotive parking light Automotive tail & brake light Vehicle registration plate Tire Car

WHERE IS IT ?????

on closer inspection, its still there but hidden away, so to fit the miltek I will need

Vehicle registration plate Automotive tail & brake light Car Vehicle Automotive lighting

An ST insert., looks like it's a straight swop, but b4 i buy one I'll take the ST one off to check it fits

2 off leather front door panels
2 off miirror asemblies ( pre face lift )
2 off side skirts ( unless the guy or girl I bought them off on ebay actually replies so I can collect them)
1 off ST rear bumper trim ( to go over the exhaust )
