V8 anyday, you don't buy a stang for anything other than its noise and presence. For me you buy the RS if you want tuning capabilities

Exciting times with the new Mustang, we have had 11 orders so far up to today and our new showroom purpose built for the release of the vehicle is coming along nicely! Its certainly a lot cheaper than I had thought it was going to be. Plus with Mountune already dropping little teaser photos on the net it will be I interesting to see what they can get out of this 2.3 ecoboost engine!

Also, not sure why people are so surprised at it's price. The Shelby Mustang GT500 in series 19 of Top Gear was only the equivalent of £35k... and that packs 650bhp!

 

People must be mad to choose the 2.3 to chase figures rather than this animal!

 

If ford released a capri with a 2.3L ecoboost only, no one would bat an eyelid. The mustang has heritage and is known for the noise of the v8.

 

Just specked a 5.0 in grey to £34,990.

Pennies for soo much car at first thought, then when you think harder you realise it wil depreciate like a stone and rattle like a pinball machine.

 

yes Graeme, makes me cry inside knowing people who have ordered a 2.3 version.

Well when I say orders we have 11 deposits from people whos names are on a list to be some of the first in the UK to get them, and ive absolutely no idea when the first one will land sorry!

I've registered my details with my dealer as I'm planning on getting one in the competition Orange. V8 is appealing but the mpg figures aren't so may have to be the 2.3

That is true, I really wouldn't know which one to go for. Got a year to decide

 

Buy a jerry can full of fuel and tip it out of your window....that's what a mustang thinks to mpg

I know I'd regret the v8 when it drains my wallet. I'd though of going German but a mustang is more unique, that's what I've told myself anyway

 

for the best part of 30K+ I would much rather have a second hand A45 amg if I couldn't have the V8 stang

 

I looked at a s3 saloon and the new focus St. Not had anything German yet though

 

Times are changing guys! Turbo charged revolution. I do agree that it will be lacking in noise. It will still be a fast car. It could transform how the world see's the mustang, a precise, performance coupe rather than a noisy brute good for nothing but shredding tyres and making noise.

 

Or could go down the route of the fast the mustang used to be an affordable sports car... nowadays affordable means economical (within reason)

 

what's the tax going to be on the v8 and the 2.3?
