OK, I'm probably being a bit thick here, but I have occasionally noticed a couple of (to me) weird things -

sometimes when I turn the car off then start to get out, the horn gives a short beep. First couple of times I thought I'd pressed it accidentally but I have heard it and definitely not pressed it.

second, occasionally when I get in, I notice both the green indicator arrows on the dash light up, just as I'm getting in, then they go out. This is before I've pressed the start button or anything.

I've looked in the online manual and not spotted anything. Can anyone shed any light on what these things might be trying to tell me? Or is my car haunted?!

Cheers,
MarkP

Ive had the beep when a door/the boot hasn't been closed properly. This drove me mad until I figured it out.

Green arrows always light up with the indicator lights, including locking/unlocking the car. I'm assuming this is when you're getting in with the keyless entry?

I say that because if you're unlocking the car with the key, likely by the time you've gotten to the door handle after clicking the button on the fob the indicators have turned off, but when you unlock with keyless, you're stood at the drivers door looking at the dash.

So I do use keyless, but I just went out and tried opening the door and quickly checking the dash and the arrows didn't light up, so I don't think it was that.

I wonder if that's been causing the horn? Would I get that at the end of a journey when I'm getting out though?

It's a strange one!

I have the horn problem too, sometimes it is when I haven’t closed the boot properly when I’m going back into the house, but I also had it the other day.. Unlocked the gate at my storage container, got back into the car (not pressing any lock buttons on the key or the door) and the car tooted at me twice… no idea why, haven’t ever replicated it / had it before either.

I've had the horn a few times in my Focus. The few occasions I have had it have been when the boot isn't closed properly and I think another time I hadn't shut the bonnet correctly (needs to be dropped from a decent height).

If you get this often, I'd recommend checking the bonnet and all doors/windows to make sure they are all closed correctly.

I think, I once had it where I unlocked the car, but never opened the door too.

I've had this happen to me a few times. It wouldn't do it all the time and I was baffled as to what was causing it.

Finally worked it out and it was when I had my ecig in the same pocket as my keys. The batteries or casing on the ecig must interfere with the signal from the fob
