Hi Jon,

Not sure about lowering for a better ride, I lowered mine purely for astetic reasons, but then did fit Bilstein B6's all round at the same time, so that certainly didn't detract from the ride quality.

I would suggest that if you are contemplating lowering, now would be a sensible time to consider shock replacement ( budget permitting )

Post some piccys of your new car :cool::cool::cool::cool:

Hi Al,

Thanks for your reply, was looking at Eibach suspension as it seems to be mentioned quite a lot in the Forum. Just had s look at the B6 on the website, I had forgotten about Bilstein, I think that was what I had on my RS Turbo(20+ years ago). Good quality equipment, not a bad review from anyone either. I'll post some pics as soon as I collect the car.

Hi Jon,

I used Eibach springs front and rear (lowered front 35mm & rear 30mm), sorry made a mistake in first reply, I fitted B8's not B6's.
If it hasn't had it done already, I would seriously think about replacing stuff like engine/gearbox mounts & suspension bushes with powerflex or equivilant.
I bought a new set of wishbones, fitted the bushes and then just changed the wishbones when I had the shock/hub assy off.
If your doing the shock change yourself, I would drop the shock/hub off as a complete assy and fit the shocks off the car, then refit.
I know it is doable with the hub in situ but both the fiestas I've done front shocks on were a pig to get the new shocks into the hubs ( even after sand blasting the hubs )
Look forward to seeing the car
Al
