Hello all,

I have a couple of things I’d like to sort on my mk6 in short order. Firstly, I’m looking to find new headlight covers. The current ones are looking a bit tired, and some slight debris has gotten inside them (probably spiders sneaking in somehow). I’ve had a look online, and I can’t find just the covers, only the full units with the lights as well. I don’t need new lights (yet 😝), but if I have to, I’ll get them.

Second question: I have a bit of bubbling on the rear windscreen. One of my colleagues thinks it could be in need of a replacement film over the glass. Is this the case, or something else?

Cheers all 👍
Hi Jackman,

To the best of my knowledge you can't get headlight covers just the complete unit

Thats weird whats happening to your rear screen almost looks like its become delaminated...... unless youve got insuranc which would cover a replacement, it might be an idea to scource a complete tailgate from a breaker

Good Luck (y)

Cheers. I’ll have to just buy the whole units for the headlights next month.
I suppose the tailgate can be a project to sort at a later date. It’s not that intrusive really

I’ve just had a look as well and my insurance does cover the cost of windscreen repairs and replacements (hopefully including rear) up to £100, and going by the average cost of a new windscreen of £150, I’d only be paying £50. May even be worth just paying the whole thing myself. May as well try and bleed a stone to get money out of insurers, and I’d protect my no claims as well
Hi Jackman,
Sorry mate, didn't even consider a tint, that will be an easy fix if it is
Good luck

Many thanks. My barber has some along with the grinder with some polishing heads that I can borrow. Isn’t knowing people a great thing haha
Hi Jackman,

Now I'm worried .... I live with a barber and shes great for haircuts but I wouldn't let her close to my ST :)
Question: Why would a barber need grinders and polishing heads, what service do they offer ??
Good Luck.
