Here you can discuss stories of idiots you have come across on the roads...issues you have noticed...and rant & vent to your hearts content. Refrain from mentioning racing or illegal stuff, unless it is of what another party has done.

To start things off here is one of my stories...

Was sat on the inside lane at a set of red lights a few weeks ago, only car waiting, and a kid pulls up in his 1.2 Corsa in the outside lane. I was 4 up and just pulled away casually. All I can hear is some screaching of tyres and an engine being abused, so I look in my mirrors... He must have been flooring his throttle because he was just sat on the line wheelspinning!

A few yards...miles...down the road he caught up and flew past me. The limit on this road is 40mph and I was sat dead on it on my speedo. I am not going to risk losing my licence by "racing" some idiot so I just let him be to speed off into the distance.

No doubt he told all his friends later that night or at college the next day "I beat an ST last night, they're well slow"

So, what acts of stupidity have you witnessed of late? Should make some interesting reading :)

Things like that happen often to me as well, however I knew an 'older lady' who used to own a Focus ST because it was 'pretty' looking and everyone used to pull up the side of her and rev the nuts off their car.

Not really that funny but someone at work claims their dad can get an extra 100bhp increase from a volvo via ecu remapping, without any other modification taking place.

lol I parked up to go to the shops.... When i came back to the car there was about 6 inches gap between my door and this mondy, so i had to go to the passenger side, drop the handbrake and roll the car into the middle of the carpark, then i could get in my door *sigh* I parked right out the way too... ironically to avoid that kind of thing

Not really funny in the respect it was a bit tragic, but... When I was on my way to Ford Fair, this year, I was sitting in the middle lane, waiting to go over to the far left, when a black Mk6 Fiesta zoomed passed me at at least 100mph minimum.

My dad and I just scoffed and called him a so-and-so for being such an idiot on the road, and just carried on driving along. No more than 5 minutes later, we see and pass the same fiesta crushed, half-in-size, in a massive smokescreen leaning against the middle wall with a little VW Golf near it, smoking away.

The Fez was covered with advertising, livery, etc. as well. So was obviously going to Ford Fair etc...

Moral of the story: don't be an idiot.

i'm only ever serious if i'm getting paid to be serious
I was stuck behind a woman doing 25 in a 40 zone the other day. I kept my distance because she looked old and doddery.. and I didn't want to be that guy who drives right up someone's back end. At an appropriate time I down-geared and was able to over-take.. keeping the speedo dead on 40mph.

She had her window down and screeched 'bloody boy racer! You'll kill someone driving like that!'

My mate in the passenger seat yelled 'It's a 40 zone love!'

she then proceeded to speed up and drive up the back of me flashing her lights and swerving as if to over-take.

Moments later blue flashing lights appear and she gets pulled over for what must have appeared to be dangerous or drink driving.

Moral of the story: There's a limit for a reason.. and road-rage is appalling.

Shame on you madam!

That is brilliant! I had the same yesterday near enough...

Was driving down a country lane, is a national speed limit road and this part is nigh on dead straight so was doing 60mph.... There is a petrol station along this particular road and some absolute dingbat in their diesel 106 decides that as I am approaching is a good time to pull out...

I was anticipating something so had slowed to about 50ish... still had to slam my brakes on at the last moment which is when they pulled out, no warning at all.

Anyway, I procede to travel behind them and in this very rare occasion, didn't let it bother me too much. However, she then decides to drive at 30mph on a clear, open road which is the national speed limit. So, at the next opportunity I too when to overtake, as I did she slammed on her horn and when I pulled back in front she had her full beams on!!

What is with all these elderly drivers recently!? Do they not pay attention to road signs and conditions?

So glad the one in the above story got pulled over! That made my day reading that haha.

haha naa someone on here called a group of drivers I come across a lot "monospeeds" - the ones who do 40mph in a 50 zone and then when in a 30 zone, continue to do 40mph!

In my old car was on the motorway and this guy undertook me and swerved right in front of me. I flashed my lights and he stuck up the finger. He then boot his car and this cop car came out of nowhere and flashed him to pull over. While i was driving past him i beeped the horn and waved laughing away. Needless to say he wasnt pleased.

Another time i had someone wanting to race me in his Corsa. He was speaking to me and i said cool ill give you a 10 seconds head start. Lights turn to green he screechs away and i turned right. He probably thought what a
bag lol.

People that drive too close to you, had this a few times, theres a 40 limit on the road going into my estate. People usually tailgate there so when this happens to me i slow the car right down (once went down to 15mph) and indicate very last second to turn the corner. ****** people off lol

Another thing i do is when someone beeps the horn at me for no reason i laugh and wave to them. Makes them look stupid haha

my mum, whos not that old and not the doddery type was doing 30 in a 30 the other day when an ST driver got right up close behind her. then, at a completely inappropriate place she said he dropped it a gear a booted it right past her. she mimed politely to the guy driving 'you should slow down, you're going to crash driving like that' when the lout in the passenger seat yelled "eff off coffin dodger - get back to your effin' care home"... she then suffered a panic attack at the wheel but managed to steer the car to the edge of the road and as luck would have it an ambulance was passing so they put the blue lights on and came to her aid.

Moral of the story: don't be the guy that drives right up someone's back end
Shame on you boy racer!
