Here you can discuss stories of idiots you have come across on the roads...issues you have noticed...and rant & vent to your hearts content. Refrain from mentioning racing or illegal stuff, unless it is of what another party has done.

To start things off here is one of my stories...

Was sat on the inside lane at a set of red lights a few weeks ago, only car waiting, and a kid pulls up in his 1.2 Corsa in the outside lane. I was 4 up and just pulled away casually. All I can hear is some screaching of tyres and an engine being abused, so I look in my mirrors... He must have been flooring his throttle because he was just sat on the line wheelspinning!

A few yards...miles...down the road he caught up and flew past me. The limit on this road is 40mph and I was sat dead on it on my speedo. I am not going to risk losing my licence by "racing" some idiot so I just let him be to speed off into the distance.

No doubt he told all his friends later that night or at college the next day "I beat an ST last night, they're well slow"

So, what acts of stupidity have you witnessed of late? Should make some interesting reading :)

Why is it when stationery waiting at lights etc the car behind stops real close and when traffic ahead starts to crawl they edge inch by inch closer before i move. I've tried dabbing my brake lights to 'wake them up' but has no effect. It seems they know what they're doing so do it more to annoy you.
My grey ST is debadged but a nice personal plate whether this has any bearing.
That's not just an ST thing, that's an impatience thing.
Probably the same type that when at the front of the queue at the lights, will inch forward on a red so much that they're usually past the white line by the time the lights go green. Then, when the rest of us start to move, they're sat there waiting for a different shade of green.

That's one where like tailgaters, the closer they get the slower I go / the bigger the gap I leave in front, for safety reasons of course.

Yeah, as mentioned above, it's an impatience thing but also incompetence.

They're most likely in an automatic, and instead of changing into P or N and engage handbrake, they stay in D and sit on the footbrake. Every now and then, their pedal pressure will change and the brakes release and so they roll forward...

This is also why when in traffic you will be blinded by stupidly bright brake lights these days, as no one ever seems to apply their handbrakes anymore.

Not technically a 'road tale' as I was stood at my front door... but just had a delivery and the women said "Is that the ST-Line? I've got one of those!"

So I said "No, it's an ST."

"Oh, yeah, I've got the ST-Line. They're nice aren't they!"

Yes, completely different cars, my real ST is nice 🤣

Had a bit of a close call. A taxi driver was driving on the wrong side of the road at night round a corner! I slammed my brakes on then sat there gobsmacked for 10 seconds while he drove across the front of me (I was stopped mid corner)
into a bus stop on the corner.
Unfortuately my rear dashcam didn't get his plate number as he turned round before I set off again. Obviously should have got out and took a picture of his reg and taxi licence plate but I was kinda shocked and relieved me and ST were ok, and I didn't really want a big confrontation. If I had the plates would definitely be onto the police and council though.
...the Mrs got pulled over in the Fez with our daughter in the back, because they thought she was drinking at 9am on her way to a play group...she was blowing her nose as she has a cold, they couldn't find a drink in the car apart from a Peppa Pig bottle. They apologised straight away apparently....fools.

Is one way of looking at it.

Good on them for actually being out and about looking for offences, is another way of looking at it.

50 or so cars would've passed while she was stopped and all observed the old bill doing what they are paid to do. You can bet your last pound a fair chunk of them were doing something wrong and for the next few minutes they'd drive perfectly.

I'd far rather they were checking and eliminating honest mistakes than stuck in an office recording the fact someone objected to being referred to by the wrong gendered pronoun or any other such modern day heinous 'crimes' that seem to take up far too much time and effort.

We need more cars stopped and suspected offences challenged. Damned if they do, damned if they don't.

I hear and understand what your saying, but confusing drink driving with blowing one's nose? Nah, foolish mistake, but at least they apologised.
Coming home from the beach just now, approaching a roundabout with 3 lanes entering. Biker behind me on the approach, swerves over to far left lane at the last minute, enters roundabout, cuts up the van on my left in middle lane trying to go straight on and then right over in front of me.

I beep at the bell and he shakes his head...

He then tries to gun it off down the dual carriageway, but his bike is slow.

Coming up to the next roundabout, he is now 2 cars behind me and I am turning right again. He drops back into the left lane and speeds up, only to slow right down alongside me and shake his head again.

He then realises, in his blinded vendetta against me for his wrong doing, that he is right up the arse of the BMW in front of him. He then almost falls off, revs the nuts off his bike and, you guessed it...shakes his head again.

All the while, at every opportunity, he was in the wrong.

Think biker.
