A colleague had a similar experience with Meguiars ceramic wax on his black 56 Plate VW Polo, ended up looking like it was covered in water marks and streaks. Could just be limitations of the product on a black car being shown up.
Though in fairness, the car was his daily, and this was the first time it hadn't received a Polish Hand Job (though he does own 4 other classic VAGs which he does care for). As I understand it he simply washed it and applied the wax without polishing or decontaminating first, but like most off the (Halfords) shelf waxes it was 'suggested' it could be applied as is.

Please keep me updated, thats the thing , its a relatively simple task to use this product, its designed to be simple so i dont think i can get it that wrong. I suppose its possible that i have a duff bottle , maybe to much silicone as the dark streaks definitely look like ones that would match say silicone grease for instance.

 

I did my daughters old clio today as I was bored. Its hardly ever washed so old product contamination wont be an issue.

Its the lovely met blue colour similar to the 172 cup , guess what , streaky!! Had to buff off with a damp micro fibre again, think I might have a dodgy bottle of gear.

 

Did the daughters Skoda today was fine until the sun came out.
As soon as it got warm the Ceramic detailer got hard to use. Had to go over it with some Maguire's.

 

Cheers Grandad pike, dont get me wrong when it does come off with a damp micro fibre it looks pretty good but I wouldnt say it was a wipe on - wipe off product. Conversely I used my maquires ultimate paste wax on my ST this weekend , always a pleasure to use with cracking results

 

@maxxoutput It's good to see your vindicated sounds like the formula is not quite perfect for those of a "exacting" standards detailing mindset, though perfect for those DIY'ers just wanting a 15 minute wash that leaves their light coloured car looking pretty good.

If my kitchen paint does not turn up in the next few days (Frickin Homebase 10 day delivery schedule WTF!!! are they picking this paint up from Timbucto?!?) I may re wax my car and test out my small pot of AF Soul car wax. 33% T1 Carnauba and recommended for light colour cars.... lets see what happens ....

I would have to agree. The Maguire's Datailing spray is much easier to use than the T/W Ceramic.

 

Dude exactly the same problem here on my Tesla dual motor "dark blue".. streak city.. how to use isopropo alcohol mix to get it off. Even the graphene product leave slight smears.. but as you polish first use a damp cloth and then dry clean cloth.
