Hello again, seeing as I've had a clio 172 with xenon's i'm now finding my ST like driving with just side lights on, so want to upgrade my headlights, I had a search and see most of you have upgraded to the Philips xtreme range, would really like the brightest they have, so I assume that would be clear white, rather than blue tint?

Please recommond the best one to have.. and do i need H4 or H7

Thanks Gemma

anywhere like halfords or motorworld will help you out....

i actually never found conventional bulbs that were THAT good so i went all out and fitted a HID kit, proper gas discharge bulbs that you get on the top end motors...

they are the nuts

As im using them in my Ultra Halo's but they request H7's instead of the normal H4's for standard ST headlight units. Plus it helps being in my line of work as get bulbs well cheap :D

go and email Gray at performance stars if u unsure what to get they helped me out got a good deal and nice bulbs, think they are the phillips ones but guess what hun? again good luck in fitting these. I know im sounding negative with everything like with the stereo but trust me im not kidding when i say its very fiddly and tricky to get them out.

well a friend with an st had recommended the philips 4000k blue tint ones.. anyone had these?

with regards to buying both if you look on ebay some sellers give away the other bulbs for buying the headlight ones..

I bought some Osram Nightbreakers from Ebay (powerbulbsdirect or something). Cost me ÂŁ14.95 including delivery for a pair, and wow, what a difference. So much brighter than the standard bulbs and not so blue that causes attention, if you know what I mean.

I fitted them myself in about 10 minutes, without having to mess around with removing the light unit or the bumper. Just unscrew the coolant tank, slide it off the retainer at the back, move it to one side then change the bulb. Passenger side takes 1-2 minutes tops.

Well worth the investment - Phillips Blue Vision are good too, but I'd got for the Nightbreakers. Gonna get another set for spar at that price.

HID's are wicked mate, but is it not true that they cost ÂŁ150+? To get an instant improvement on lighting, you cant really go wrong with a ÂŁ15 paid of bulbs. If I had money to blow on lights, then I would def go for the HID's. ÂŁ15 isn't even half a tank of fuel! lol

True but the ÂŁ140 i spent on my HID's is a sound investment in safety I feel. It makes driving a night so much easier and safer. The roads so much better lit. Specially considering my car rarely sees street lights and I do a lot of driving at night.
