Are you sure spark plugs are every year? Totally OTT for low mileage cars.
My car has had 3 services, pretty sure they have only been replaced once and I am not on a plan.

I recently had the 2 year service done at about 12.000km. I asked to change the plugs (as i thought they need to be replaced every 2 years no matter what). They said the mileage is too low and there is no need to but i insisted so they replaced them.

It's an interesting one. If it's not required then you should at least get a discount for the work that wasn't included. Having said that, does that then mean it's not been serviced according to Ford's own schedule? They should make spark plugs one of the optional "Extended Period Maintenance" items that aren't included in the base price if they're not always required.

Yep - every year it says "Spark plugs -- Renew" 🤷‍♂️
There was another thread on this. Ford changed the online schedule from every two years to every year. The OP had a discussion with service reception at his dealer because the dealer's system still said every two years. They checked with Ford who confirmed it should be every two years, but sounds like they haven't done anything with the online schedule

Just a quick update on this ageing thread!
Had my 6 year (24000 mile) service at Mountune this week. A major service with BF and coolant.
The total cost was £399. Arrived at 8.30 and left at 12 midday. A friendly bunch, answered all my questions and very knowledgeable. Can't fault the service I received and would definitely recommend. A comfortable customer waiting area and a nice bakery within a 15 minute walk 🤤
Drove home with a smile on my face knowing that my car had been fully inspected and treated well.
Worth every second of the 3 hour round trip.
Well done Mountune 👍

Did you get a paper copy of the service, stamp your service book or are they able to place a copy onto the Ford pass service history file ?
Good to know the service received by both you and the car was really good 👍

Hi Bumbles, I got a lovely Mountune stamp in the service book and a paper copy saying .... Major Service but the items serviced weren't individually listed. Also a Report of Inspection which included all the normal stuff....discs, pads, tyres etc. I've included a picture of report to give you an idea.

Didn't ask about a Ford Pass upload
Hope this helps

Hi Doobedoo, well funny you should ask!
I did inquire about this tiny little job 🤣.
Mountune haven't done any as yet which I was a little surprised about but even the earliest cars are not at the 10 year mark and I guess not too many 150k cars about either. They did inform me that timing chain replacement would definitely be part of this for obvious reasons and they thought it would be a job they could do.

I didn't push for a price mainly because I don't want to know what's in store for my wallet . I'm likely to have this done at the 8 year mark so early 2027 and 40000 miles ISH.

We all like surprises but probably not like the one that's on the cards for most of us🫤

I’m a little concerned that the 150,000 10 year lifespan is going to be highly optimistic. I came across this video that made be mindful that waiting so long may well be a little risky. This engine was destroyed due to the oil pump belt degradation.

Haven't watched the full video, but it does state it's the 1.0 at the start of the video.... which an ST engine isn't.
I'll be corrected if they do look at the 1.5 dragon engine later in the video, but honestly can't stand watching Mike in videos, so won't watch the whole thing.
