Hi guys,

I have plans to decat my car when i fit an exhaust system, looking online nearly all the decat downpipes say they require a stage 2 map? Is it not safe to decat without stage 2.

I didnt want to go as far as stage 2 tbh...

Sure ive seen videos of mp215 cars decatted though and standard cars.

Answers appreciated

Thanks

Why would you change the downpipe and not go stage 2, it's possible the engine light will come on unless it's mapped, you can but an adapter to cheat the sensors.

I want to decat as this provides the best sound twinned with an exhaust system, cat is also very restrictive.

Yes we all know a decat wont pass an MOT ,
How many times has someone asked a genuine question, about fittment or compatibility and been hammered with the same answers again and again 🤣🤣🤣

If someone wants to run a decat on there car then thats their business ! It could be for on track use or private road use

...... yes you can run a decat with a stage 1 tune , just inform your tunner that you are doing so and they can then make the relavent changes to the ecu so the EML doesnt come on

Its got nothing to do with passing an MOT, it is law that a cat must be fitted to a car of this age for it to be legally be used on the road, so NO if the car is used on the road he can not fit a decat - question accurately answered.

It's very unlikely that the car is being used for track driving only.

By all means put a decat on but dont come moaning if someones crashes into you because your insurance will be void because as theyve said they arent legal so yeah run a decat but just be on your toes everywhere you go in case someone isnt paying attention

I suggest you rethink your approach to forum use. Fit your decat and enjoy the noise, why ask in the first place?

Oh by the way....what is a "keyboard warrior"? Someone who tells you the truth that you don't like I'd guess?

Steady on you "keyboard warrior". :)
