Clunk when braking and turning the car to park

I have been recently noticing that my mk8 Fiesta is doing a clunk when braking and doing a hard turn (when parking the car) I haven't noticed it when I'm not putting my foot on the brake. I don't feel anything in the steering wheel so I don't think that is the steering column.

Anyone has heard something about this kind of issue?

Thanks in advance.

Recently I have noticed that my mk8 Fiesta is making a screeching noise when braking and hard cornering (parking) and I haven't noticed it when I don't put my foot on the brake. I don't feel anything in the steering wheel, so I don't think it's the steering column.

Has anyone heard of this type of problem?

Thanks in advance.

I get a clunking noise / knock noise too when slow parking / manouvering, no idea what it is , had it since form new. It's not often i get the noise, think its mainly when on kinda full steering lock or 3/4's lock

Me too from new (2019) particularly getting off my driveway in reverse as incline to pavement then further incline to road on 3/4 lock.
lt seems to have stopped since l had new tyres fitted but don’t see how that can affect anything.

I know brakes have been mentioned in this thread, but the fault is increasingly common.

Steering rack, steering column and/or CV joints and Driveshaft can potentially be the issue. I also used to "think" it was only when braking, but this was a red herring...it just happened that it was manoeuvres where you use the brakes were the ones that also allowed me to hear the horrible clunk/knock/creak/crack sound.

As mentioned in other posts, I've had this problem and am seeing it more in more on the forum. Happened on my 2019 car and it's happened on my 2020 car, which is now awaiting a drive shaft from Ford under warranty.

Just gonna say, it's not unusual for none standard diffs, as in LSD or ATB, to clunk on tight cornering or heavy braking if one wheel breaks traction or during cornering.

Also I do think that the brakes on my MK8 appear to be noisier than I'm used to.

I dnt have a video, however, both drive shafts were done at Ford.

The noise remained, and then the car started clunking loudly going into reverse. I had to complain to Arnold Clark, and they held their hands up, and arranged a booking at another of their dealerships who had multiple Master techs working there.

The master tech road tested on Monday, he was spot on, and has changed both top mounts and the gearbox Mount under warranty!

Collecting the car back today, so will update this thread on the outcome.

What I will say is, the noise was awful, and getting louder. Hoping it's sorted. Ironically though, the driveshaft shouldn't have been changed, but at least there are two new ones and new CV joints in there now 😆

based on my experience so far, I still think that the brake pads are rattling.
not the CV joints.
