I've found this tends to happen on the local tesco pump on the odd occasion I've needed to fill up there. It also happened at BP station in Hereford. I never have problems at my local BP station though, or another BP that I occasionally use.

In short.... yes I've had this problem but its been too intermittent for me to work out any pattern yet. My ST-2 is only a couple months old.

One trick I've found is to only slightly pull the trigger on the pump... but yeah... its weird.

 

I've had this issue as well I managed to get half a tank the first time around, not sure if its because I only had around 50 miles left to go in the tank.

 

Hi, yeh I've had the odd problem, both with my 63 plate titanium & now the ST, not as bad as you're having though.
When mine clicks off I tend to lift the handle so the nozzle isn't up against the side making it think the tank is full.
Maybe the nozzles are a bit more sensitive near you.

to combat this, try: Pushing the nozzle in, then you have to move the nozzle so that end is raised inside, if that makes sense (so you're pushing down on the handle to lift the other end)

Place all the way in, then pull it out one notch before fueling

 

That's the exact opposite to what I have to do.
It's a guessing game!!!!!!

 

I have this at my local tesco, as above just don't squeeze the way and it usually does the trick.

But at another tesco I fill up near work, they have newer pumps and never have any issues, also they fill up 10 times quicker it seems.

 

I've had this also. I found it was the way I was tilting the nozzle. When I put it in now I just place is in straight and let nozzle rest where it wants then just fill it up. No issues since.

I have this. Never had a problem in my diesel mk7 ZS but in the ST it can be a ******* nightmare!!!!! Gonna try the above advice and see how I get on!

 

It also chucks fuel down the side of the car if you pull the nozzle out too quickly after fuel stops going in.

To get it to work, you need to pull the nozzle handle down very slightly. I had issues the first time I filled up.

Well my 15 plate fuel filler cap decided do dismantle itself when I filled up last week. The flap wouldnt open fully so the nossle wouldn't fit the the sprint fell off along with a few other bits ... opens fully now it just doesn't close now either

Tried the method Rich suggested yesterday by pulling it out about 20mm on a brand spanking new pump and I had no issues.

Having it all the way it kept knocking off the trigger.

So far problem solved for me!
