DIY illuminated scuff plates?

Just wondering if it's possible to DIY install some leds into the non-illuminated scuff plates to get them looking the same as the illuminated ones? i.e. Are they the exact same part except without leds & wiring connected up?

Failing that, does anyone know where I can buy the <<<<ST>>>> illuminated scuff plates (with overseas shipping)?

Reason being in Australia we only have a single spec ST with no options and only get the non-illuminated scuff plate. :sad:

A while back on here someone posted a link to the US accesory catalogue which had the sills for $200 for the pair, instead of ÂŁ2-300 each here.

It seems the design has been changed due to a fault but, the new style don't look anywhere near as good

If you could get the front or back over off you might be able to fit LEDs but don't use a ribbon cable unless you can fit it without bending it around a corner. AdamST took some pics when he swapped his, it showed the supply plug was about half way along the sill under the trim.

@Xfileswilly

@pop80_uk seems to know his way around the sill plates and would be worth asking for advice.

In the following post he said he was going to post a "how to" guide on them. He never did as far as I'm aware, but he visits the forum frequently even though he doesn't post as much now...

I'll give him a shout. Thanks
Im still working on the guide, and also a stock of upgraded sill plates.

I have a young family now so that takes up alot of my time.

Ive replied to this member and will help him out.
