Getting a new engine and looking at a tubular exhaust manifold, I have looked at a few brands. So far Ive seen airtec, pumaspeed and also direnza, eventually considering getting a hybrid turbo at some point so not sure if its worth getting it just now while the engine is out.

has anyone any other suggestions and also know if its worth it

Ive seen peron stage 3 setups use ported manifolds and they make more power and torque, think i read on airtecs site saying you will see little difference up to a stage 2, maybe slightly faster spool times on the stock turbo but think there made for when you go hybrid turbo tbh.

The biggest thing with them is the heat they produce - they get unreasonably hot

As you can't use the stock heat shield you'll need to use heat wrap to keep the temps down and if possible use a custom heat shield.

I'm currently running the AP racing tubular manifold on my Mr230 and there isn't much noticeable difference apart from the cracking spool noise it makes

I thought these help REDUCE heat? because it gets rid of the exhaust gasses quicker?

When I upgraded my cat to a sportscat i noticed a reduction in heat coming from the back and this is without the heat shield also, same goes for the decat.

Would love to hear what your turbo sounds like now.
