Oh I like this more than I thought I would. When do the MK8.5s start delivering?

 

Hi @marketh, I have been told like many others that my st3 8.5 will arrive at the dealership on 19/02/22, but I think it is more realistic for an April/ May 2022 delivery cheers👍🏻

 

It isn't quite a direct fit, the central 2 fixings fit ok, but they had to use some tape and self tappers around the edges.

Idk, looks ugly to me. Not interested in chopping people's ankles off just yet.

 

I don't dislike it but It suits the facelift front better to my eyes, I prefer the offerings from the aftermarket sector.

It is bigger than i thought and sticks out quite a bit, but i reckon painted Gloss Black it would look really good on an Edition.

 

I was very excited when I read that it fits a mk8 but then I saw the pictures. It just stops abruptly on the side of the bumper where on the mk8.5 the bumper would wrap around it.

 

I have just looked at some photos of the facelift and it definitely looks better on that, i was thinking about getting one but not so sure now.

From that pic, the appearance at the end looks very similar to how it looks on the facelift

 

i think the ford budge placement on the mk8 is much better from the mk8.5

 

what's the RRP on one of the spliiters? are they any pre drilled holes on the Mk8 or does drilling need to be involved? does look better on the Mk8 than the Mk8.5

Like the Ford Performance number plate holders, it adds another 20bph 👍

 

It'll be a nut and bolt fit, but might do it the same time I fit a big intercooler and other things while the bumper is off. Only want the bumper off once if I can get away with it.

 

I've just ordered this from Parts Plus, so hopefully it will be the right thing when it arrives.

 

Does anyone know if it is above curb height, otherwise I will be clouting it whenever I park front in?👍🏻

 

Depends where you park, some kerbs are shallow, some are mahoosive 🤷‍♂️

The splitters in question are not designed in wind tunnels for downforce, they are just aesthetics. A bit like the entire body kit that an ST has over a base model Fiesta, purely for looks.

And here's me thinking people were having a laugh to lighten the tone of the discussion. Maybe I was wrong. 🤔

 

The more I look the more confused I get. It's hard to find a high-res photo of the mk8.5 bumper but it might not actually mold around the splitter and the splitter just tapers off.

If anyone here has it fitted to their mk8 could you post a close up photo of how it sits against the bumper on the sides?

 

Pic on a bridge or something that shows us the fitment of the spoiler?

I collected the Ford Performance MK8.5 front splitter today after a 3 week wait and will be attempting to fit it to my MK8 tomorrow if anyones interested. 👍🏻

 

Not something I would go for but looking forward to seeing the end result.👍
