Jorg you absolute legend. Fixed it a treat. Tried slamming the door and no luck. Removed the switch cover with some trim tools (without damage or marks) and used a flat bladed screwdriver through the plastic gaps to hit the motor. It has marked the motor slightly but it now works again. Super job.

I used to work on Tornado aircraft and a genuine fix for a weapons loading electrical fault was to grab an aircraft wheel chock and hammer the applicable wing pylon with said chock. It rectified the fault most of the time!
