Milltek cat back exhaust engine light?

I have had a milltek cat back exhaust fitted to st mk8. I'm sure when I drove it home the engine management light wasn't on but noticed in sports mode it wasn't really popping.
Today I have engine management light on. Think its the valve. Some times it's shut when it should be open and like when you unlock the car it goes to the closed position, well mines open.
I have dropped the garage an email, does any one have any ideas while I wait :D

So I have been advised by milltek as there not seeing customers that it just needs plugging in and fault clearing. I have done this. The light stayed off a while valve seemed to be working Normally I think apart from the valve made a noise 6 times like it was trying to move but couldn't but didn't trigger the engine management light.
Next day (today) lights back on. Reset it again. I know its going to come back on again later.

Milltek been no real help at all. I've threatened them to put my old exhaust back as I never had a problem before

When i fitted mine when bolting the motor/adaptor assembly together i made sure that the flap was fully home in the exhaust and would open and close nicely with how i set it up and have had no issues it could be it hasn't been assembled very well?
Not much help i know but?? Take it back to the garage that fitted it (did milltek fit it?) If they saw a customer to fit it they should see the customer to fix it?

Thanks m8. No wasn't done at milltek just one of there approved garages. Everything was done to correct torque. I'm taking it back there. I do t think it's anything they have done wrong. Think it's poor design by milltek as othe people having problems also. I contacted milltek as there head quarters are only round the corner but they seem to be as much use as a chocolate tea pot. I wouldn't have anything milltek again as think there customer service is poor. Lesson learnt. If they can't fix it I'll go back to standard or another brand.

That's very poor i did notice it's liable to stick if not carefull with the way you assemble it tbh...
Mines not a patch on the quality of my old mountune one but it's stainless and working ok so i'll leave it
I'd get them to re assemble it see what happens swapping to another make is expensive

@Custard Tart @Tom87y just out of interest, have Milltek had to redesign the hardware like mountune have due to the revised regulations on cars built after September 2020. Could this be the reason why the EML comes on?

Taken from Mountune website for ease of ref

PLEASE NOTE: Vehicles built after September 2020 use revised emission hardware to suit EU6.2 regulations. We believe these changes make our current GPF-back valved exhaust non compatible. Support for this latest level will be made available soon. If you are unsure please email us with your VIN and we will check compatibility for you.

I'm not sure tbh? But i think the car in question is a PE so shouldn't be?
