No Brake pressure

Hello all - I'm hoping that someone of wisdom will be able to adivse - my poor little fiesta has been off the road for a few weeks - she failed the MOT due to lack of brake pressure. It's taken two weeks to get the part and it was installed today.

Driving back, and to be honest - I dont think it feels any different to what it was. I've pumped the pedal and it seems to get firmer, then when a leave it for a second or two it will almost go back down to the floor. Can anyone suggest anything?

I'll have to get back intouch with the garage tomorrow, (worringly the warranty has now ended!!)

thanks

Could just need bleeding properly. If there is air in the system, that is easier to compress than a liquid, so the pedal will travel further. Either that, or, you could have a leak and when you press the pedal the fluid is escaping somewhere meaning the pedal can go to the floor. Like you say, take it back mate.

Thanks for the reply. I took the car in today and they said they could rebleed the system for me - (my read pads and discs are an advisory on the MOT to change within 1000 miles) they said that the fact that they are worn would cause the extra play in the system - They've quoted ÂŁ210 to replace. I'm in two minds just to get them done as they will need doing soon and get them to sort the low pressure then.

allot of cars with verry worn discs and pads will feal spongey if it dose not solve the problem it it could be a stuck caliper slyder or piston or a vacume problen but ushely with a vacume falt the pedel will feel hard but the brakes will be :censored: i would not thing it is a leak in the system because it would empty the fluid verry quickly ad u would have no brakes wot so ever
