I have been driving my st for about half a year now and thought i would give my pro's, con's and opinions for people thinking about buying a fiesta st. These are just my opinions, im sure other members can add theres,
PROs
1. looks- i have had many comments from passers by how nice the car is and i think it looks like a performance hatch!
2. engine reliability- as far as i am aware the engine is extremly reliable and have had no faults on mine, two years old 20,00 miles in. It uses the same engine from the mazda mx5 and the cateram seven (not sure on spelling) uses it so it cant be that bad
3.tuning-if your thinking about a car to tune the st is a good choice, there are so many parts on offer and tuning companies, a standard st is very restricted and simple after market parts can transform the car, 200+ bhp can be had from the 2ltr duratec in the fez
4. fords reconise this and offer ford approve tuning kit (mountune)with power of around 185bhp!
5. the car can be supercharged by jamsport
6.handles very well, i have had no problems, ride is firm but smooth
7. interior is nice, seats are comfey and look smart
8.gear stick is nice to use with quick shift
9.on board computer is realy good and easy to use
10.mine has air con/six cd changer/ and heated seats which are all good!
11.since mine has been mountuned i can average 36-40 mpg which i dont think is bad!
12. cheap to insure
and the very honest CONs
1.stereo- my one aint great!
2.power steering whines when hot!
3. a few people have been unlucky with gearbox, driving normaly
4.power delivery of a non-tuned standard st is not slow just very smooth, if your looking to be pushed back into the rear seats buy a turbo'd car
5.ford customer servace in general is crap!
6.you will have boy racers trying to race you!
7.rear seats sometimes squeek! can be

8.could do with a sixth gear
for me the pro's far outway the cons, i love my st, its fast comfortable, econimical and looks good what more could you want!
