Sync appears to have randomly stopped working, my phone wont charge, voice control button does nothing and I cant access the sync settings in the menu section.

Any thoughts? Im unfortunately required to do a long drive tonight.. typical!

Thanks in advance for any help.

Weirdly mine has also done the same... yesterday :icon7[1]: never had this problem before, even pressing the AUX button just moves it for a fraction of a second off say radio or nav onto aux then straight back...

This can't be a coincidence surely its almost like a date (millennium +17 1/2 bug!!) error...

Right tried all sorts of resets pulling fuses, master reset (when I eventually could get to screen!!) and even resetting phone but to no avail. Took it to TCH Peterborough who took the car into the garage straight away and did a battery remove to reset but still U/S. It has occasionally came to life but only for a single journey then fails again. It's booked in on Thursday next week for the master Tech to try and fix but I am thinking the sync module may be U/S or unseated as up until now my Sync has (from reading the comments on here!) been one of the most serviceable items out there and has never needed reseting!!!!

For fault ident in the future here are my faults so far:

• Speak button on steering wheel not working

• Number buttons on stereo in-operative but fwd/bwd buttons on steering wheel working

• Aux button not working or simply returning to previous screen in under a second.

• Phone bluetooth not connecting or connecting and the message to say its (emergency) connected remaining on the screen over the top of whatever you are doing

• USB in-operative & will not charge phone or allow connection

• All the while though Nav works flawlessly!!!!

I will update this when my car has been sorted to give others a possible cause/solution to their own faults

Micky.

Well ford have had my car for two days and are a bit stumped so i've been told they are changing the API Moduleon ford advice.... Well they will when it comes in off back order.... Lets hope this fixes the issues. I will be so glad to get rid of the 85 bhp KA+ it makes me realise how good the ST is!!! :lmao:

Well forgot to update this but the APIM module (Accessory Protocol Interface Module) otherwise known as the sync brain, was replaced under warranty and this fixed mine totally, sync is as was day one and no further issues. I did ask how many others they have had with this issue to try and gauge if this could happen to my car further down the line when the warranty runs out and they said it is rare but they have changed a few (whether I believe them or not is open to question). So if anyone else has similar symptoms to mine might be worth a check with ford especially if their warranty is coming close to the end
