Well I found them here but they are a bit steep, I also found those but passed over them as I wasn't sure.
If they do the job then that is all good, i'm sure with the cars you have you will use them more than once.

Martin.
Hi Martin,

Thats a really helpful site, Did a bit more searching and cross referenced the Ford Pt no the Lazers ae based on 205-316-a

It does list Fiesta 2001-2008, so hopefully will be ok, the price for these is rediculous, so if they don't work I'm tempted to get some bar turmed down to the correct diameter and weld a plate on.

From what I see the holes the alignment pins go in are not used by the bolts that hold the subframe on,

but you won't really know until you try it.

Hi Martin,

yeah, its just a pin that goes through the subframe into the car body, fingers x'd

Hi All,

Still waiting for the alignment pins to be delivered, but I can alreay see its going to be a PITA getting both pins to align, keep them in place, fit main bolts and tighten, without either the pins falling out and/or the subframe coming off the jack ( I'll probably be doing thhis on my own ) as well as trying to get the rack to align on the steering column.

So, I've invested in two lengths of studding: 1 off M12 x 1.5 x 300 and 1 off M10 x 1.25 x 300.

The plan is to cut all of them in half to give me 150 lengths, screw the 2 M10 lengths into the very front subframe mounting hole and the 2 M12 lengths into the very rear mounting holes, then take up the weight of the subframe with nuts

I'm hoping this will give me more stability - we'll c

Hi All,

I'm becoming more aware that I have an ever increasing box of bolts etc that need refurbing before this car can star to go back together, so thats the plan for this week.

along with getting the underside heat shields repaired

The yellow arrows show the mounting holes which are knackered ( all of them ) - I know the coke can fix, but also have a few old pieces of rack heat shielding, so hopefully between the two can lash something together.

Then its back to cleaning up bolts on the wire wheel.

Oh before I forget, I'm having trouble finding 1 of these:

Its the clip that holds the solid lines to the bulkhead and is broken on the red arrow - I don't have access to 7zap anymore so can't find a ford part number - any help appreciated.

thx Al

Hi All,

Well, the alignment pins arrived today, I initially thought they were too big as they wouldn't go down through the hole in the subframe, but on closer inspection found the hole in the bottom of the subframe is larger and they do fit.

The plate supplied with the pins is useless on a fiesta, but I am reasonably confident I can make up two new plates that will locate in the pins slot and using the outside subframe bolt, stop the pins falling out

This was the best shot I could get as the pin kept falling out and I ran out of hands

Hi All,

Today is a wind up, finished nights this morning, in bed 07:30, delivery about 10:30, studding & nuts to make subframe supports, yay....

After about an hour with various files and angle grinder had cleaned up studding to get nuts on easily, cut studding in half, and hey presto

Image

Checked nut sizes with subframe bolts and they are both wrong - m12 x 1.5 that I made should be m12 x 1.75 and M10 x 1.25 that I made should be m10 x 1.5 😢 😢 😢 😢 😢

New studding & nuts ordered - back 2 bed

Hi All,

New "correct" studding arrived this morning and new lengths made up.
As I only had two nuts of each size, I filed a couple of flats on what will be the botom end for a spanner.

Next job will be to relocate all the packing blocks currently in the way of the rear subframe mounting holes.

Will I be ok to support car under front chasis rails, as theres no engine currently fitted, don't want to bend he car in the middle

Thx Al

Hi,

Had a rethink and moved the blocks back along the centre chasis rails.

Not quite as straighforward as I had hoped but managed to get the suframe/rack/wishbones assy in, in 1 piece this morning.

Don't think there would have been any way I could have man handled that lot in on my own.
